So after my ridiculous bus adventure came to an unexpected halt (see my previous posts), I was out up in a hotel in Lyon for the night. In the morning, SNCF representatives told us we could buy train tickets to our destination and be fully reimbursed. I made it to the station with plenty of time, and lo and behold the only tickets available for my train are first class tickets.
Finally, something was going my way! Not a huge difference on the euro trains, but just the kind of bump I needed to distract me from the paperwork I'd have to complete to get my 115€ reimbursed. During the first leg of the journey, the train I was on had to stop before the terminus for some unspecified reason. Fortunately, the final stop was mine. I was able to transfer to the second train successfully.
Everything is going smoothly, then we stop in the middle of nowhere for "technical reasons". Fine, I figured, better safe than sorry. Only a slight delay, and we were on our way again. I settled in to do some writing, when about twenty minutes later we make another "technical stop". This has me worried—the change to my itinerary only gives me small window to catch the rally cars. Once again, another short delay. We begin moving again, when a group of 5 police officers enters the car and demands to see everybody's passports. Fortunately, everything is in order for and the train continues while the police check identities, but so help me god if one more thing goes wrong on this trip…
A five hour train ride has turned into a 26 hour adventure. At least the place we've been stuck is pretty:

Good Luck!! One time I got stuck on a two lane highway for 10 hours. Only detour is a dangerous 5-6 hour in the complete opposite direction so I know the feeling.

Holy hell. Since I began reading about your trip yesterday morning this is what I've done:
-been at work most of the day yesterday
-visit CCC and get accosted by Zac for always showing up with my camera
-edited some vids and posted some ish
-made dinner for my gf and her friends (boyfriend lvl 1000)
-drank some whiskey while watching a show about bush pilots
-sleep
-now

This is definitely the acme of ridiculousness for my time Europe, haha. Sounds like you had a fun day though! I'm off to see the cars now, hopefully some pictures tonight.
